BOOK TALK: Queer Flora, Fauna, and Funga

Writer and editor Franky (Frances) Cannon and Eli Witteman (editor at Valiz) will talk about the creative process behind editing and publishing the book and discuss some of their favorite contributions. The conversation will be moderated by Astrid Vorstermans, founder of Valiz.

ABOUT QUEER FLORA, FAUNA AND FUNGA

This recently published essay collection is an eclectic and transdisciplinary anthology exploring sexual and gender diversity in nature. Queer theory and natural history intersect through visual art and creative writing.

Queer Flora, Fauna, and Funga asks us to reconsider our relationships with one another and with our more-than-human companions in the natural world. The collection explores and reflects on the relationships between humans and animals, plants, and fungi, drawing on visual art, poetry, and scientific research. With more than 40 contributions by, among others, Daisy Hildyard, Melissa Faliveno, Giovanni Aloi, and CAConrad.
